Betty Sue Connell, age 85, of Glenwood, GA, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA.  She was born in Wheeler County on January 29, 1940, to the late Bessie Evans Turner and Lester Turner.  Ms. Connell worked as a Clerk for the City of Glenwood for thirty years and enjoyed gardening and sewing in her spare time.  Her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. 

Ms. Connell is survived by her son, Clay Connell (Wanda) of Glenwood; grandchildren, Nikki Connell, Andrea Hogue (Jagger), and Dakota Connell, all of Glenwood; great-granddaughter, Annie Jo Hogue; brother, Franklin Turner (Effie) of Glenwood; and sister-in-law, Josie Turner of Glenwood.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Doyle Connell; daughter, Susan Anne Connell; brother, James Turner; and sister, Rea Peavy.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Towns Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Edge Cemetery in Glenwood, GA.
