Dale Eugene Witsman

Mr. Dale Eugene Witsman, age 88, of McRae, GA, passed away at his home Friday, March 17, 2023.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at McRae Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Norwood Davidson and Rev. John Franklin Peach officiating.   Interment will follow in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church social hall.

Mr. Witsman was born August 9, 1934, in Decker Township, Indiana, to the late Charles and Opha Self Witsman.  He was a member of First Christian Church in Indiana, a farmer, and a former banker.  He owned and operated several businesses, including a John Deere and Chevrolet dealership.  Mr. Witsman mostly enjoyed working and spending time with his family, who were blessed to have him for 352 seasons.  His family was always his first priority, and he showed it every day in how he faithfully loved and served them.  He was always loving, kind, generous, and compassionate, no matter what life circumstances he endured.  

Mr. Witsman is survived by his children: Dale E. Witsman Jr. of McRae, Denise Best (George) of McRae, Charles Witsman (Mary) of Leesburg, FL, and Ezra Witsman (Eric) of Waikoloa, HI; four grandchildren: Allie Altman (Mason), Emily Payne (Josh), Caroline Witsman (Terrence), and Mary Catherine Witsman; six great-grandchildren: Kyleigh, Charlie, Kate, Cameron, Olivia, and Mollie; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years: Patricia Ann Witsman; five brothers; and five sisters.
