Effie Williams Turner, age 82, passed away on January 29, 2026, at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia.

Mrs. Turner was born on December 19, 1943, in Wheeler County, Georgia, to the late Alton Williams and Corine White Williams. She was a lifelong resident of Wheeler County.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, going to yard sales, fishing, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Family and friends will fondly remember that she made the best biscuits, a simple joy that brought everyone together.

She is survived by her husband, Franklin Turner, to whom she would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on March 7th; children, Frankie Turner (Katrina) and Ronny Hulett; siblings, Martha Cooper, Rosa Lee Roberson, Tony Williams (Tammy), and Johnny Williams; grandchildren, Alisha Ann Dee, Joseph Brown, Shannon Poole, Andy Poole, Brittany Whitmire, Rosanna Chisum, Jasmine Solomon, Kolby Hulett, Michael Devin Hulett, and David Hulett; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters: Shirley Turner and Darlene Poole; and siblings:  A.W. Williams, Earl Williams, Judy Hulett, and Marsha Barber.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Towns Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Edge Memorial Cemetery in Glenwood, Georgia.
