Etta Crawford Vicks, 95, of Glenwood, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA. She was born May 26, 1927, to the late Gordon Cone and Irene Stephens Crawford. Mrs. Vicks was Baptist by faith and was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her cats, cooking, working in her yard, and walking. She was preceded in death by her sons: Clyde Vicks, Craig Vicks, Kenneth Vicks, Infant Son, and Infant Twin Sons; brothers: William Crawford, John Crawford, and Morris Crawford; and sister: MaryLou West.
Mrs. Vicks is survived by four children: Larry Crawford of Glenwood, Beverly Johnson (Windsor) of Glenwood, Jane Purvis (Mickey) of Alamo, and Charles Vicks (Donna) of Glenwood; seven grandchildren: Jason Crawford (Kelly), John Johnson, Julie Johnson (Matthew), Sabrina Scott (Allen), Erica Vicks, Colby Johnson, and Ryan Purvis; eight great-grandchildren: Dylan, Alyson and Kason Crawford, Carson and MacKenzie Johnson, Rileigh and Cole Scott, and Jayley Henry; and sister: Helen Bassett.
Graveside services for Mrs. Vicks will be held in the Alamo City Cemetery, Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. W.R. Connell officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
