Mr. Cannon was born on March 12, 1947, in Cadwell, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he worked in construction for many years and later owned and operated his own drywall business, where he took great pride in the quality of his work and the finished product.

He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and enjoyed cheering on his team.

Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Black Vaughn, and two brothers, Joe Cannon and Edward Cannon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gail King Cannon, who was the love of his life; one sister, Lee Jennings; and his children, Tee Cannon, Ralph Cannon, Scott Cannon, Angelia Belcher, Janet Fogg, Christine Cannon, Harlon Dywayne “Bubba” Cannon, Jason Cannon, Pamela Litteral, and Dana Burkhalter.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren: Candice Varnadore, Chrissy Chatting, Jamie Cannon, Destiny Cannon, JC Cannon, Destiny Layman, Triston Davis, Dustin Dennis, Anthony Fogg, Kay Cannon, Jessica Willingham Hood, Crystal Belcher, Zachary Willingham, Matthew Cannon, Bailey Cannon, Hank Cannon, Allison Litteral, Tyler Burkhalter, Abbi Burkhalter, and Rylee Burkhalter; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Harlan was especially blessed to share a deep and nurturing bond with his great-granddaughter, Parklynn Grace, whom he lovingly called his “little ray of sunshine.”
