James Robert “Mr. Nick” Nicholson, age 85, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA, after celebrating his birthday surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Nick was born December 24, 1937, in Lawrenceville, GA to the late James Franklin and Lillian Louise Ratcliffe Nicholson. He volunteered with Alamo First Baptist Builders in Africa, Builders for Christ, Legacy Outdoor Ministries, and Springhill Fire Department for as many years as he was able. Mr. Nick was a retired school teacher and beloved golf coach for the Wheeler County Middle and High School. In his role as an educator, he also served as a mentor to many students as he selflessly gave of his time and talent. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing golf, but his favorite pastime was being with his family.
