James Freeman Turner, age 79, of Glenwood, GA, passed away at his home Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Towns Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.    

Mr. Turner was born July 6, 1944, to the late Lester and Bessie Evans Turner in Wheeler County.  He worked for many years logging and always enjoyed spending time in the woods.  He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Josie Turner; son, Freddy Turner (Melissa); grandchildren: Renae Turner Bradshaw, Bethany Hilliard (Kane), Cailey Turner (Joe), Madison Turner (Landon); great-grandchildren, Hayden, Khloe, and Mason Bradshaw, Ella and Everleigh Hilliard, J.T., Madilyn, and Kenslee Burnsed, Brett, and Austin Wommack, and Brinleigh Glisson; brother, Franklin Turner (Effie); and sister, Sue Connell.  He was preceded by his parents and sister, Rhea Peavy.

Towns Funeral Home of Alamo is in charge of arrangements.
