John Stinson Sr. Obituary

John Freeman Stinson Sr., 78, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his home in Lumber City, GA. He was the son of William Coney and Olivia Wyatt Stinson, born on October 20, 1945, in Laurens County, GA. He became a resident of Shiloh Community, Wheeler County, in 1957. Mr. Johnny and his wife of 56 years, Sherry, made their home, raised their sons, and became a special part of this loving community. He was a longtime member of Sardis Baptist Church. Since then, their slogan, “Love At First Bite,” has proven true for the surrounding area and many traveling through Telfair County on Highway 341. Mr. Johnny loved cooking, fishing, farming, visiting with his family and friends, working, teaching his sons to work, and especially serving and feeding others. His dedication and commitment to everyone he knew and loved will be remembered by all.
