Mr. Johnny Carlton Hughes Sr., age 58, of Soperton, GA, passed away on March 23, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA, surrounded by his loving family. Johnny was born in McRae, GA, to the late Carlton Buck Hughes and Mary Catherine Montford Hughes on September 26, 1966.  He was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Glenwood, GA, and worked as a diesel mechanic and trucker for many years.  His love and passion for the outdoors consumed his time when he wasn't working.  Being in the woods, hunting and fishing, was where he was happiest.   

Johnny is survived by his wife, Terri D. Hughes; children, Johnny Carlton Hughes Jr. (Farrah), Buster Clark (Mandy), and Cody Clark (Brook); grandchildren, Trey Hughes, Ivori Hughes, Don Hughes, Kayden Fish, Walker Clark, Saydee Clark, and Clay Clark; numerous nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.      

The family will receive friends at Hope Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Chuck Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
