Kenneth Dwain Bell Obituary

Kenneth Dwain Bell, age 76, passed away October 09, 2024, at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA.  He was born September 3, 1948, in Vidalia, GA, to the late Hancel A. and Ruby D. Barber Bell.  Mr. Bell was a 1966 graduate of Montgomery County High School and lifelong resident of Wheeler County.  He served during the Vietnam War in the United States Army’s 4th Infantry Division and was a recipient of a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.  In his early years, Mr. Bell enjoyed racing fast cars and playing softball. In recent years his hobbies included riding motorcycles and working around his shop. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church where he previously served as a deacon. Mr. Bell was self-employed and was the former owner of K Bell Trucking and Bell Logging.  He had a strong love for his family was affectionately known by his grandchildren as “Papa K.”     


Mr. Bell is survived by his children: Dwain Bell (Wendy) of Glenwood, Becky Fitzgerald of Mt. Vernon, Nathan Bell (Cathy) of Vidalia, and Amanda Alford (Josh) of Soperton; grandchildren: Kade, Kolt, Kyndal, Bricyn, Shanne, Rilyn, Ethan, Hudson, Bragg, Bella, and Bailor; sister: Elaine Pope; and brother: Larry Bell (Frances).  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Barbara Ann Hartley; and brother: Hancel “Buddy” Bell Jr. 


A graveside service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at Edge Memorial Cemetery in Glenwood, GA, at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Ronny Saxon officiating. Active pallbearers are: Kade Bell, Kolt Bell, Ethan Bell, Hudson Bell, Bragg Alford, and Bailor Alford.
