Obituary
Larry E. Crawford, 72, of Glenwood, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA. He was born on July 5, 1950. Mr. Crawford served in the United States Army and worked as a forest operator for Container Corporation. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, talking to all those who crossed his path, and serving as a D.G.P.O. (Dollar General Police Officer) with Mr. James McRae for the City of Glenwood. He was preceded in death by his mother: Etta Vicks, and brothers: Clyde Vicks, Craig Vicks, Kenneth Vicks, and three infant brothers.
Mr. Crawford is survived by two children: Jason Crawford (Kelly) of Glenwood and Julie Johnson (Matthew) of Glenwood; grandchildren: Dylan, Alyson, and Kason Crawford, Carson and MacKenzie Johnson; special friend: Doris Smith; sisters: Beverly Johnson (Windsor) of Glenwood and Jane Purvis (Mickey) of Alamo; brother: Charles Vicks (Donna) of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Crawford will be Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Towns Funeral Home from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Graveside services will be held in Glenwood at the Edge Cemetery, Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Ronny Saxon officiating. Towns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
