Sue Sikes Joiner, age 75, of Glenwood, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, after an extended illness. She was born October 18, 1949, in McRae, GA, to the late Matthew Brantley Sikes and Ruby Virginia Hinson Sikes.  She is survived by her husband of 54 years, G.M. Joiner; daughter: Mitzi Rogers (Ray) of Glenwood; son: Ross Joiner of Glenwood; grandchildren: Kelsey Montford of Albany, Jordan Harris of Vidalia, and Parker Harris of Glenwood; sisters: Janet Hill of Alamo and Barbara Ponder of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law: Connie Goss of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Joiner graduated from Wheeler County High School and was voted Homecoming Queen by her peers. She attended Georgia Southern University, was a Zeta Tau Alpha sorority member, and earned a Master of Education degree. For several years, she taught first grade at Wheeler County Elementary and served as executive director of the Glenwood Housing Authority. Mrs. Joiner was an active member of Glenwood First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School director for many years and always enjoyed singing in the choir.  She will always be remembered for her kind spirit, contagious smile, and sweet disposition.  She was truly loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.   

Services for Mrs. Joiner will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Glenwood First Baptist Church, with Rev. Kevin Hammons officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Monroe Goss, Jeremy Goss, Eric Smith, Robert Bell, Andy Poole, and Rodney Smith will serve as pallbearers.
