Lula Mae Thigpen Montford, age 79, of Alamo, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026. She was born on October 13, 1946, in Vidalia, GA, to the late Salem Thigpen and Lula Jeanette Gillis Thigpen.

Lula Mae was a dedicated employee of Federal Pacific, where she worked for 22 years as an operator before retiring. She attended Montgomery County High School and was an active member of Snowhill Community Church. Lula Mae enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, and playing cards.

She is survived by her three children: Jeanette Coursey (Jr. Brown) of Glenwood, Maudiant Montford (Lisa) of Dublin, and Nausha Harden of Glenwood; eleven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Billy Thigpen (Jan) of Glenwood and Betty Thigpen of East Dublin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel H. Montford; her son, Sandy Poole; and her siblings, Grace Gregory, Robert Thigpen, Kathleen Poole, and Earlene Prickett.

Lula Mae will be remembered for her warm spirit, devotion to her family, and the joy she shared with those around her.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Snowhill Community Church, with a visitation one hour before, beginning at 1:00 PM.  Rev. Kevin Connell and Rev. Ronnie Moore will be officiating, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
