Russell Dillon Brown, Sr., born February 19, 1944, to the late John Wesley and Freda Clark Brown, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, at the age of 78 at his home in Alamo, GA surrounded by his family. He grew up in Wheeler County and was the owner and operator of Oconee Cabinet Corporation, where he was a master cabinet manufacturer. He took great pride in his work and was very dedicated to his trade. He was also a certified auctioneer and an avid gardener, syrup maker, reader, and fisherman. Spending time with his family and watching his great-grandchildren play was his favorite pastime.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 58 years: Joan Horne Brown; children: Rusty (Melveta) Brown and Ron (Janet) Brown; grandchildren: Sandy (Nathan) Wood and Danny (Candace) Brown; great-grandchildren: Rylee, Noah, Cady Rae, Nash, and Ryker; and brothers: Leon (Sandra) Brown and Lanier Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister: Willa Dean Jones; and two brothers: Roger Oris Brown and Lennis Brown.
The Brown family will be receiving friends at Towns Funeral Home Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 8, 2022, at Alamo City Cemetery.
