Mr. Samuel Halbert Montford, age 75, of Alamo, GA, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, at Snowhill Community Church in Glenwood, GA, with interment following in the church cemetery.  

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Montford was born December 6, 1947, in Glenwood, Georgia, to the late Johnny Halbert and Dovie Lee Clements Montford. He was a member of Snowhill Community Church, where he enjoyed playing the guitar and keyboard. Fishing, hunting, woodworking, and baking cakes were some of his favorite pastimes. 

Mr. Montford is survived by his wife: Mae Montford; children: Maudiant (Lisa) Montford of Dublin, Nausha Harden (George) of Glenwood, and Jeanette Coursey (Junior) of Glenwood; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and siblings: Becky McAlum (Comer) of Towns, Anna Lee Moore (Fred) of Uvalda, Gloria Morgan (Chuck) of Glenwood, and Joey Smith of FL.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son: Sandy Poole, and sister: Catherine Hughes.
