W.R. Connell

Rev. W.R. Connell, age 85, of Glenwood, GA, passed away at his home Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Snowhill Community Church from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  A service in celebration of his life will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Snowhill Community Church, with interment following in the church cemetery. 

Rev. Connell was born September 9, 1937, in Wheeler County to the late Ruben and Maude Warnock Connell.  He started serving the Lord in ministry at age thirteen as a youth pastor and has served as a pastor for over 68 years.  He faithfully served as the pastor of Snowhill Community Church for over 45 years.

Rev. Connell loved fishing, growing flowers, and raising all sorts of animals, but his devotion to his family and church was his greatest passion.   He will forever be remembered for his dedication and devotion to God, his family, his ministry, and his community.  

Rev. Connell is survived by seven children: Rueben Connell (Tina), Kevin Connell (Angela), Eugene Connell (Heather), Edison Connell (Lisa), Anthony Connell (Angela), Ladon Connell (Kelly), and Venessila Salinas (Mark); sixty-four grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister: Dorothy Etheridge; and brother: Harold Connell.  He was preceded in death by his wife: Agnes Arlene Jackson Connell; sons: Prentice Connell and Timothy Connell; and daughter: Dawn Connell.
