Willie "Jack" Adams Obituary

Willie Alphas “Jack” Adams, age 92, of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Southeast Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus.

Jack was born in Norman Park, Colquitt County, Georgia, to his parents Willie Manning Adams and Ruby Viola Mercer Adams. Jack and his wife, Mildred, moved the family to Glynn County in 1985 and Jack went to work as a groundskeeper on the golf course for Sea Island Company. This was the perfect job for Jack, as he loved being outdoors! Even after his retirement from Sea Island in 2002, Jack could be found tinkering in the yard and cutting other people's grass. He loved to fish in fresh bodies of water, and in his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns on TV. Jack was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Brunswick.

In addition to his parents, his wife of 69 years, Mildred Anderson Adams, and four siblings, Annie Powell, Thomas Adams, Donnie “Bud” Adams, and Patsy Adams, preceded him in death.

Jack is survived by a son, William A. ”PO” Adams (Connie) of Dublin; three grandchildren, Sheree Adams of Brunswick, Corey Adams (Allison) of Glenwood, and Tyler Adams (Carli) of Claxton; five great-grandchildren, Lane, Kelsey and Cason Adams of Glenwood and Colton and Corey Adams of Claxton and three siblings, Geneva Graham (Gene) of Stuckey, Shirley Hilliard of Eastman and Hazel Nelms (Charles) of Stuckey.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Towns Funeral Home in Alamo, Georgia. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am at Stuckey Baptist Church in Glenwood with Reverend Chuck Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood City Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, and Towns Funeral Home, Alamo.
